I was reading one of your responses concerning where was Adam (AS) and I commend you on your excellent thoughts.
Also, I just wanted to say in regards to it that Allah saying He was going to place a vicegerent on earth does not negate or necessarily approve the fact that Allah placed Adam (AS) in what is considered the future abode, jannah. All I think it shows is that man did not ‘fall out’ of Paradise, and it was Allah’s intent to place man as vicegerent on earth. It was a learning experience to show that Adam and His wife were not ready for Paradise, and did not fulfill the conditions towards it yet. This negates the Christian and Jewish view of man being expelled out of Paradise as a punishment.
Also, to further confirm this viewpoint, Allah says that He is going to appoint a khalipha [on earth] before the relation of the story of Adam (AS) and Eve (AS).
But Allah Knows Best.
Kind Regards
